Hey Lovely people! I hope you're having a nice and easy going Thursday. Wow, isn't it crazy how May just came and left so quickly?! May was a month of completion for me since I completed grad school in Media Studies. That was huge for me! Now, June is a going to be the month of practice & perfection. This month I will practice my skills and specialties the best I can. I know this is super cliche, but practice does make perfect. Planning also brings great results. It would be great to jot down your goals and write practical plans to achieve them.
What are some of your goals for the month of June? Let's help each other make them a reality.

1. A bright pencil skirt is great for the office and for after work hangouts with co-workers or your date.
2. Pastel Skinnies have been trending big time this season and while paired with a neutral top it definitely looks fab. Hey, even live on the wild side and pair it with a neon bright top. Let it 'glow'!
3. Stripes are in! This effortless dress can go great with some platform wedges.
4. Strappy stilettos make any outfit sexy an sleek. Try these bold colors from Zara only $49.90 <<Click & Buy Here!
5. Flats go along way if you're a city girl like me. Summers in the NYC entail skipping the sweltering Subway and opting to walk the streets and enjoy everything that summer has to offer. You might as well look good while doing so. Flats with shimmery embellishments rock!
6. Similar to number 1, a bright bold blazer can make even the most simple outfits POP! I do on camera work and it really helps bring my on-camera presence alive. Try these with some denim skinnies or with some black straight leg pants a la Audrey Hepburn.
7. Bold statement necklaces speak volumes. This necklace is from J.Crew, I have it in turquoise and it is tres chic and a huge summer must-have.
8. Summer clutch, dish the bag lady syndrome and rock this from Zara's on a hot date or night out with the girls. Simply throw your cell, lip gloss, camera, I.D./cash/cards in here and you're all set!
9. Lightweight Sunnies- don't leave home without them this summer. I'm a Ray Ban fan. They're durable and mega sleek.
Thank you so much for reading and have a great Thursday sweet people!

Happy Wednesday! I hope you all are enjoying these days of spring before the summer heat kicks in. I'm so looking forward to the pool opening in my town. I'm at Panera Bread working and waiting for my meeting to start. So why not blog and connect with my blogger buddies in between ?!
I'm wearing a Vintage yellow Top, j.Crew Skirt and Tory B. Reva Flats. My friend Monica is wearing a Charlotte Russe necklace and sporting a messy/wavy pony. Thank you for reading Loves! Make today great and make it count!

Happy Wednesday! My heart is overflowing with love and compassion for these precious children at the Lamb Center Orphanage. I'm so grateful to have the privilege of knowing and serving them. Meet Rudina, she's 5 years old and loves to smile. She lost her parents in the Earthquake but at the tender age of 5 she says she wants to be happy and will keep on smiling.
I learned so much about humility and thankfulness through knowing these gifts from heaven.

When I think about summer I also think about a great summer read that will challenge me and peak my inquisitive nature. All this taking place, while sitting under a tree near the water or swinging on a hammock. Yesterday, I stopped by Strand Bookstore in the East Village and bought this book. I'm not a huge Fiction reader because I enjoy true events that directly affect lives. So this book seemed interesting!
While watching Good Morning America I heard a story about a Jewish lady named Deborah Feldman who escaped abuse and a painful life as a Hasidic Jew. I had compassion for her and wanted to know more about her story. It takes a lot of courage to break away from customs and traditions to stand up for what's right. The birth of her son encouraged her to leave her alleged life of dysfunction, abuse and pain.
Have you ever made a drastic decision for the good that lead to losing relationships?

Hey loves! I hope you had a relaxing holiday with your loved ones. Today my gal pal Ha (yes her name is Ha) and I went to a French restaurant in the West Village named Cafe Cluny. We had the best French Toast and scrambled eggs. We had a great time talking and getting to know each other better. She recently graduated from grad school too so we had to celebrate. What was the highlight of your Memorial Day?

Spending the day with my mom celebrating Haitian Mother's day. We went to Tarjayy, had Gellato and I got an Ampersand item finally!
I wish you all a wonderful weekend as we remember and celebrate our heroes who gave their lives for our freedom.

Life is a sum total of who you decide to spend it with. Isn't it so true that you can go somewhere completely boring (not this wedding btw) and have a blast because of the people who accompanied you? That's how I feel about my friends. I attended a lovely couples beautiful wedding yesterday and enjoyed being there to support them. It was so humid and hot out that we stayed in the shaded area in the garden to remain cool. I just love interracial couples, the diversity at the event is one of the things I love the most.
Have an OUTstanding weekend filled with love and fun surrounded by awesome people you love the most.
My dress is from TJ Maxx, Shoes: Loubis, Clutch: Nine West & Necklace from TJ Maxx. My friend Shabad is wearing a dress from Target & a Cardi from TJ Maxx.

Hey Loves!
We made it through the week. Woohoo! There are something's that happen throughout the week that leave you smiling from cheek to cheek or cause you to let out a huge sigh of relief/thankfulness.
Here are my top five things of the week (no chronological importance order)
1. My Skinny Caramel Latte that I get from my local Starbucks before getting into work.
2. Finding a lovely Peony bush in my backyard and also the apples on the trees are beginning to bud. That makes me happy.
3. Finding out that I graduated with honors from grad school. Hard work and trusting God truly pays off.
4. The look on my hairdressers face when I randomly delivered flowers to her at my bi-weekly visit. (Notice how busted my hair looks?! haha!)
5. Reading the latest issue of Glamour in which one of my fav singers-Carrie Underwood graced the cover. When the interviewer asked her about why she sings about Jesus, she fired back so confidently and the same time respectfully. I'm inspired! Read below

Happy Thoughtful Thursday Lovelies!
Today something that's thought provoking is how important it is to chose to be happy and joyful. Depression is at an all time high because of all the horrible and disastrous events we face daily. But, I've learned that we have to purposely chose to be happy. Josh 1:8 says to 'make' your way prosperous and you will have good success. Let's encourage each other - surround yourself with people who celebrate you and not tolerate you, do something you really enjoy, learn to laugh at or during tough situations. Most importantly meditate on Jeremiah 29:11-" for I know the thoughts I have towards you, saith the Lord thoughts of good, and not of evil, to give you a hope and a future and a brighter outcome."stay encouraged and chose not to let anyone or anything steal your joy.
Truly,
Rachel

Good morning Lovelies! It's so great to be covered by grace- to be empowered by God to do things you can't do on your own ability. I've reached a place in my life where I'm free to be me. Sometimes, I have moments and I find myself trying to fit in but, I'm glad I can realize it and snap out being a 'wannabe'. I'm just flowing in the unforced rhythm of grace.
I wish you all have a loving weekend surrounded by people who love, appreciate and celebrate you.
Truly,
Rach
