Starting December w/ Warm Thoughts

Hi Friends! I hope you've been doing very well and feeling the love of the season. I might be the most annoying person to be around during the holidays to all my Grinchs out there. But I can't contain my excitement for this season of love. So, my favorite Christmas song of this season is "Noel" from Lauren Daigle. Hearing the lyrics always overwhelm me and I get flooded with awe. The part I love is, "the story of amazing love." This is what this season brings to light in my life. The story of amazing love when God sent us Jesus to love us back to life.

Another reason I appreciate this season so much is because it's a great culmination of the year , somewhat a year in review ending in the celebration of Jesus. I love connecting with organizations like St. Judes, Operation Warm Coat and Christmas Shoebox, Hand and Feet Project and Samaritan's Purse to put a smile on the face of a child. These kids make this season special to me.

Happy Weekend Friends!

I'm so excited about the new season! They're so many reasons to be excited, as we enjoy the fresh brisk air and beautiful hues in the leaves that fall ushers in. I'm such a huge Warby Parker supporter and they're one the brands I truly believe in and support. I'm so thrilled to share Warby Parker's new Fall Edition and beautiful collection

If you don't know Warby Parker's story here's a little insight on their history. Warby offers designer chic eyewear at amazingly revolutionary prices, while leading the way for social change. With each purchase, someone in need of eyeglasses and better eye care gets access to a pair. They share the very heart of my brand, Truly Rachel.

Warby's motto for the Fall 2016 focuses on details: Details Matter. This season's frames takes inspiration from the playful constructions and visual trickery of artists. It's a blend of subtle inflections to more elaborate touches that feature 24- Karat gold accents.

Did I mention that you get a free trial on period to snag the perfect pair!

Essence + Chevrolet + Essence Street Stye + Truly Rachel

I had the honor of being a sponsored business owner/artist by Chevrolet and featured in Essence magazine. This has been such a mind-blowing experience. I've met some amazing people within a 2- months span while working on this project. I've met fellow passion pursuers, customers and professionals who have poured so much encouragement and confidence into my heart. I remember right before I was contacted by Essence magazine producers, I was wondering how will I get the exposure and boost I need in this business. I was wondering and questioning myself. Then God has an amazing way of reminding us to be still and know that He is great and in control of our lives. Literally nothing's to big or impossible to those who dare to believe.

This opportunity has stirred up a great fire to go the extra mile with confidence in everything God has placed on my heart. This has reminded me that this journey is not only for me but to inspire someone else and encourage a young girl or boy that it's possible to pursue your passion and be a business owner. I'm so thankful for everyone who believed in me at Essence and Chevy. I'm excited about the outreach and the opportunity to give back to communities through this partnership!

My little ones! Alyssa & Jaxon- 2 years old. I love being Alyssa's mommy!

Unity in America & Canceling Out Racism: Accepting the Call

 Hi Friends!

Hope everyone has been finding courage and strength during these trying times. I've been doing a lot of praying, crying and finding reasons to be grateful over this nation during these dark times. I just know that I have to remind myself to find reasons to be grateful to be live in this land despite the racial divide that attempts to suffocate the very life force and vitality that upholds this nation, which is, freedom.

We have the gift to be a light in this darkness and use our most powerful gift- our words. The picture (below) of these little precious children serves as my inspiration to live out the words of Dr. King. That our children would unite with other white children and not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character (paraphrased). I really do have a dream. I have a dream that my daughter will embrace her overall beauty and not inadequately measure her worth based on the outer appearance of the girls in the media who predominantly don't look like her. That she would know her worth comes from the richness of God's love for her.

This confidence and boldness will start with me and at home. Whatever comes our way as parents I pray and I know that we have the strength to lead and guide our little ones. Also, that we avoid building any thoughts of prejudice (socioeconomically and racially) in our children. Children don't see color and their little spirits are so pure. We have to preserve that innocence and steer them in the right direction so they won't continue in generationally destructive mindsets.

Let it begin with us. Let's accept the call! We were meant to be courageous!

It's Official...Spring is here!

Hi Loves! How are you? I hope you have been doing well and enjoying the start to Spring 2016!

After a 5 month stint of grueling cold weather in NJ/NYC spring is here and hopefully for good! The old adage is true, with spring comes a feeling of newness of life and a fresh beginning. This April I have been challenging my self not to dread waking up in the morning and to actually go to bed earlier. That can be virtually impossible when starting a new business. When I arrive home from my 9-5, I spend time with my daughter and husband. Then I start filling orders, taking social media pics, designing jewelry and next thing I know it's already 11:30 p.m. I started reading a book called The Miracle Morning and it's really helping me learn how to maximize my mornings. Here are a few pics of what's been new!

This beauty of a Cherry Blossom tree sprouts around this time each year. I love it!

Here are the pics I take for social media @truly_rachel on IG every night. This can be so challenging but I love the end result!

No this yummy little delight isn't my 2nd child but my niece Aria Rose. I love her so much. She brings me so much joy!

I live at the park on lunch breaks! The necklace around my neck is new to my jewelry line. It's an ID Bar hand stamped with you name or word. Wonderful idea for Mother's Day. Please send your requests!

I believe in the favor of God. He just gives us special favors and showers us with His love. I get a free table at a local hair salon on Saturdays while ladies get dolled up. Grateful for the "little" things and small beginnings!
