Sunday Funday!

Hey Lovelies! Yesterday I spent the day with a group of bright, fun, virtuous ladies talking about everything from being classy while picking out wedgies to dating a man of standards with a vision. I truly value sisterhood and getting together with a group of women ready to lift each other up over tearing each other down is what I love. I'm so grateful for that.

So we went to the uber fancy and somewhat exclusive RSVP only spot called STK in the Meatpacking district. When we walked in we were surrounded by models and NYC elitists. It was a bit overly stuffy for my preference of a Sunday morning brunch. I'm pretty tall 5'9 and a half and I felt short standing next to some of these modelesque chicas.

But we had a blast celebrating the going away of my sweet friend Jennifer.

Friday Favs

Hey Lovelies! I'm blogging Live at the mall..ha! Ok, ok I'm busted. I'm shopping, yell at me later. Let me show you all the goodies that are enticing me then you'll understand why I had to make this executive decision.

I got my nails done at the same salon as Kim Kardashian. Apparently that was the pride of the salon owner because he had her pics with then hubby Humps plastered everywhere.

Thoughtful Thursdays!

Hey Lovelies, hope your Thursday has been sweet! So my thought for today is to have fun at random unconventional moments and not to take life so seriously. Laughing is literally my favorite hobby. Though, I love to laugh I'm training myself not to burst out in to laughter when people trip or during staff meetings.

Lots of love to you all!!

Ready for the Weekend!

When it's this beautiful in NJ who would want to go back into the office?! It's so bright and beautiful today all I want to do is be an absolute beach bum. Took a break with my girlfriends and soaked in the sun. Quality time is so rejuvenating with great girls.

This is a dress turned top. Great for Hump days like this when you feel like being slouchy.

How do you get over Wednesday hump days? I feel like taking a break outside clears my mind. What about you?!

OOTD & Fitness

Hey Loves!

Good morning and great day to you. I'm sore today but feeling pretty good. I'm on phase 2 of Insanity and I'm more focused now. I've been cheating terribly on the diet portion of it hence why you can't see my washboard abs piercing through my shirt.

Though this isn't recommended on Insanity, I'm cutting out simple carbs like bread, rice, pasta, potatoes (except sweet potatoes) and desserts for a couple of weeks to give myself a boost. Then I'll revert to whole wheat carbs in moderation. I don't believe in cutting out complex carbs (the good carbs that produce glycogen) out of my diet because they're huge sources of energy that you're body desperately needs to give 100% in an extreme program like Insanity.

I love switching things up in my fitness regimen and I really thrive on group workouts. Insanity is great but I really like working out in groups for motivation and the challenge. So I signed up for one session for the latest phenomenon known as NYC Cross Fit also in Chicago. Looking forward to that!

Getting to know me...

Somethings about me...

- I wake up like 5 times during the night to use the bathroom and smash into just about every wall corner. I try my best not to consume liquids past 8pm but it's a fail each time.

-I'm not a natural in the kitchen. I burn myself and burn dinner often, I drop and break things and accidentally put too much salt on stuff.

- Since I could remember I've always wanted to be a news reporter and believe strongly that dreams come true.

- I don't drink milk alone because it's pretty gross to me.

- I really really like cupcakes like a lot and it's one of my weaknesses.

- As embarrassing as this might be I have to remind my husband to put his arms around me when taking pictures (example below). I scold him each time..lol.

-I'm a big flea market bargain shopper.

- I love hosting parties and entertaining. Home decor is my fav!

-I can be somewhat of a neat freak always cleaning and organizing at the most random moments.

-I have a really deep, throaty smoker laugh that makes other people laugh or look at me awkwardly.

-I'm insecure about my bottom teeth, they're uneven and I try to speak without showing them but that's virtually impossible. My husband thinks they're somewhat cute- not!

-I'm deeply connected to my mother and my 2 brothers we have an extraordinary bond.

-I LOVE dancing and I'm usually the only person on the dance floor at the beginning of parties and at the end. I pop lock and use to be apart of two hip hop dance groups.

-I'm very passionate about showing the love of God to people instead of religion and quoting scriptures. I hate condeming but rather show mercy & forgiveness. Everyone needs love & compassion in this crazy world.

-I'm a HUGE reality TV show fan. I watch most of them, it can be a hot mess but is pure comedy.

- I LOVE with every fiber in me orphans. I dream, pray and think about the orphans I met in Haiti often. I'm counting down the days of reconnecting with them in December.

Sunday Celebrations

Hey hey!!! Sunday greetings to you all. Today is my godson's birthday party and I adore this little boy. He's truly a gift to our world. I also spent the weekend bonding with my mom and celebrating one of my best friend's 27th bday celebration bowling. I literally suck at bowling but it was fun being around my loves nonetheless.

I'm such a momma's girl and proud of it. Sending you all lots of love and hope you're in great expectation.

I'm so glad it's the end of the week and I'm very happy it's here. You lovelies made this week all the more enjoyable- no seriously, checking in with you all is a highlight! Here are my Friday Favorites and things that made me smile throughout the week.
New Yorrrk! I love NY! Being in this city takes me to a place of sheer happiness & excitement. One hand in the air for the big city.
My Neon Pink blouse from J.Crew makes a girl feel uber chic.
Frozen Yogurt! Helps kick my sweets cravings
Being with a bunch of my gal pals at Pinkberry
Steals & Deals from Marshalls: $10 Neon Pink Steve Madden floppers. Oh and my Revas got soaked in the rain so it was perfect timing.
Perfect little love gifts from Marshall's all under 9.99. Woot!!

Don't be scared it's only my legs...icing my knees after doing Insanity feels almost as good as scratching a mosquito bite.

DIY: Pin Board

Hey Loves!

I decided to get crafty and created a Pin Board a little while ago to hang jewelry, cards and cute things I collect along the way. So I headed over to Michael's Arts & Craft and got it crackin'. Here is the play-by play in case you would like to DIY.

Here are the items you'll need:

Frame with Backing/Hanging Piece
Spray Paint (Optional)
Staple Gun
Fabric
Fabric Scissors
Glue Gun (Optional)

First, measure the cork and the fabric. Be sure to leave extra fabric so when it's time to staple it you won't be short on fabric. Should you have excess fabric you can simply cut it off.

After measuring your fabric and cork. It's time to snip away. Evenly, cut the fabric and begin to fold the ends in preparation to staple gun it.

Ok be very careful with this. I underestimated this light weight gun I bought from A.C. Moore. It packs a powerful punch.
Make sure your feet and eyes are not in close range, sounds sort of impossible but you get the idea. Tip: You can use boutonniere pins to hold the fabric in place before stapling.

There you have it! It looks wonderful- not quite yet...Snap your fabric and cork into the frame and voila a masterpiece
has been made by you!

I sprayed my frame Aqua Blue outside in the yard. Be sure to do it on the grass so you won't stain concrete or wooden areas as I did. =)

I hung mine near my vanity station.

Lots of love to you on this post-storm Thursday. It was raining like crazy up here yesterday.
