Graduation Season: Encouragement for the day!

by - 11:00 AM

I am so grateful to have received my my Masters in Comm Arts- Media Studies over the weekend. It was a really humbling experience to see this take place. In undergrad I failed so miserably in math 2-3 xs in a row that I got kicked out of college. It was so heartbreaking for my mother and I to see this take place.  Especially for my mom, a single mother who migrated to the US from a small impoverished country, she felt as though her hopes and dreams ended. But God wasn't done with me, I persevered and got reinstated into college. That took place with the help of my other great professors who saw potential in me and petitioned for my re-entrance. I'm glad I never gave up and quit. Now, I stand before you as a living testament that diligence, integrity and hard work pay off. If I can do it, you totally can too!

Never give up on your dreams. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this as it is really dear to my heart.

Truly,
Rachel

  2. Hey MB! Your comments are so sweet/encouraging. I think getting your Masters is a great idea! I think what helped me balance everything out was 1st by prioritizing my time and surrounding myself with supportive people. I prioritized my life by spending time with God 1st, then with my husband & family. The supportive peeps around me understood that I would be making sacrifices for 2 yrs and wouldn't be hanging out as much. So they were so supportive, got on board and helped me with projects. My brother helped me with techy things, my friends bought me a laptop and tutored me. Keep me posted and let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
